SUMMARY: Job Description
Clinical Behavioral Health Director supervises therapists, counselors, and ancillary clinical team including
outside consultants to assure best practice regulations, standards, policies & procedures according to licensure.
Assures compliance across the agency with CARF requirements.
Core Competencies:
- Manage, evaluate and monitor direct service staff including providing individual and group supervision
for clinical behavioral health staff. - Review mental health assessments and support assignment of clients to appropriate professionals and provide continuity of care of clients among assigned professionals.
- Monitor and maintain all documentation to support timely and accurate billing.
- Develops best practices for Trauma Informed Care service delivery to maximize effectiveness for
continuity of care. - Update and maintain a sound Quality Improvement Plan for credentialing requirements.
- Update and monitor forms, policies and procedures to comply with ODMH rules and regulations.
- Play lead role in compliance with programmatic standard of CARF Accreditation
- Oversee the supervision and provide direct supervision to social work interns. Oversee and maintain working relationships with schools referring interns.
- Participate in development of department budgeting and ensure insurance billing targets are met.
- Maintain and development partnerships to increase programmatic goals.
- Demonstrates expert knowledge and support of Trauma Informed practices as outlined by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

- Adheres to and supports all HIPAA, ethics, and professional-standards requirements of Federal and State Law, organizational policy, and policies of licensing and credentialing boards
- Speaks and acts in a manner sensitive and responsive to individual ethnic, cultural, and developmental background, disabling conditions, conditions impacting one’s ability to form accurate perceptions, process information, understand direction, and communicate important information
- Interacts with members of this and other organizations respectfully, professionally, and in a manner representative of May Dugan Center brand
- Productively contributes to the functioning of interdisciplinary teams, including regular participation in team meetings and collaborations
- Assumes additional responsibilities and participates in special projects as needed or directed
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend appropriate professional, city, county, and state-wide clinical forums
- Attend educational forums to enhance service delivery and best practice models across the agency
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Service Field and/or a Master’s in Public Health Administration. State of Ohio license as Licensed Independent Social Worker with supervisory experience preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of administrative/supervisory experience in community based Social Service Agency
- Knowledge, skills and experience working with data collection systems, filing systems, Microsoft Office, Excel and internal/external networks.
Strong organizational and communication (written and oral) skills - Demonstrated knowledge of CARF (Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities), ODMH, ODADAS and ODJFS.
Working Conditions
Work performed in a general office environment and virtually/remotely through telehealth platforms. Hours of work will be stable, but often conducted outside of normal business hours; ability to work non-traditional work hours.
